Should banks pay for the Euro-crisis ?Posted: July 20, 2011
The short answer might be «Yes !».
If the debt crisis started in Greece as legitimate concerns over the Greek ability to pay back the money it borrowed, the spread to other countries (Spain, Italy, …) is at least partly under the responsibility of financial markets trying to make easy money out of the euro by attacking the weak spots and expecting the German to foot the bill.
Regarding that, it would be normal that those assailant pay for their attacks and as a reminder not to mess with the eurozone walk away with loses. As for a porcupine, qui s’y frotte s’y pique !
Unfortunately, other issue like global economy stability and long-term trust into the euro get in the way of this plan to tell good riddance to the bankers….
