Contact your MEPPosted: January 31, 2012
During the last euro-apéro, one point of discussion was to know how citizens could have their voices heard in the european debates.
There are several means: blogs, twitter, debates, … But one that is rather rarely considered in Europe (at least in France) but is more used in the US is to “contact your congressman“, or «contact your MEP».
The MEPs are the only ones, in the EU institutions, to be directly elected by the citizen on a European mandate. However, there are not much opportunities for citizens to talk to them, in particular outside the “specialist” population.
But, it is possible to contact the MEPs in your country or region and to let them know what you think of the state of the European Union or the projects of legislation discussed in the european parliament.
To contact your MEPs, find their contact info here.
